Este álbum e o ápice do vocal de Rob Rock. A produção perfeita de Roy Z (um legítimo gênio em termos de produção) só deu ainda mais brilho a incrível qualidade das composições, heavy/power metal de primeiríssimo nível e peso em evidência, deixando as guitarras conduzirem todo o material. Contando com infindáveis convidados especiais, e uma sólida banda de apoio, Rob realizou o melhor trabalho de sua carreira. E contou ainda com um verdadeiro “dream team” das guitarras para produzir um novo clássico: The Hour Of Dawn. 10 guitarristas se revezando numa música com mais de 12 minutos não merece um outro adjetivo senão inesquecível. E importante lembrar que Rob Rock já foi vocalista do Impellitteri do fabuloso guitarrista Chris Impellitteri.
Rob Rock encontra-se em uma fase tão inspirada neste cd , que meu único medo é que ele lance álbuns melhores que esse futuramente(risos!) e venha me deixar completamente desconcertado. A bem da verdade, tomara mesmo que isso aconteça.

Foi fundada em 1985, pelos músicos Les Carlsen, David Zaffiro, J.T.Taylor e Michael Bloodgood.S eu álbum "Detonation" é o mais famoso(tema do nosso post) , contendo, por exemplo, as clássicas "Crucify" e "The Messiah", além de "Holy fire", "Battle of flesh", entre outras. É uma das primeiras bandas de Christian metal, assim como o Stryper, Bride, Barren cross, Sacred warrior, etc. Atualmente, só restam "Lesk" e Michael, já que Zaffiro e JT saíram, dando lugar a Mark Welling e Paul Jackson. Além disso, Oz fox, que també já fez algumas participações com a banda Bloodgood. Pelo descrito acima so nós resta agora apurar os ouvidos para este metal de Deus!!

Com certeza muitos de nós apreciadores do metal cristão começamos a nossa jornada musical escutando este ícone. Esta aí a inquestionável obra suprema dos maiores mestres do metal cristão.

A começar pela capa (a mais fantástica e fundamentalmente significativa de todos os tempos) onde vocês podem ver a arte original (que foi – pasmem – censurada) e substituída por aquela capa preta sem graça com o logo da banda em cima. Contém o maior hino do estilo (a faixa título), além de músicas devastadoras como “Rockin’ The World”, “The Way” e “More Than a Man”. A famosa e contagiante “Free” além da clássica balada “Honestly”.

O álbum alcançou o 32º lugar na Billboard, um feito estupendo para a época e que ajudou para que o preconceito fosse lentamente quebrado além de atingir o objetivo máximo do rock cristão (levar a mensagem às pessoas) e que acabou rendendo clipes para as músicas “Calling On You”, “Free” e “Honestly” que foram incansavelmente veiculados nas principais estações de Tv.
